Recommeded smog check station South Bay or East Bay

Recommeded smog check station needed South Bay or East Bay. Can somene recommend a smog check station? My requirements are simple, cheap and won't mess up the car. Thanks.

Who did you use 2 years ago? I had mine done at the dealer but then I also negotiated a better price with them. I wonder if you could get it done during car care day?

I also used the dealer. I guess pricing has not come down much? I long for the good ole days when you could just run down to the corner 76 Station for about $30. Today's smog checks are a ripoff.

I used Arco SmogPros last time. They had a nice little Dyno built into the floor so no nasty ramp to drive the car onto. The did the whole test with the OBD-II connector and an exhaust sniffer. No visual inspection of engine compartment. The particular station I used was just south of 280 on De Anza Blvd. The price was 60 or 70 dollars. However, you had to remember to ask for a $10 discount.

Thanks Kevin. I went down during lunch today. Done for $64. Exactly as Kevin says. Dyno on floor and they don't need to look at the engine. They are located at 10625 N. DeAnza Blvd, Cupertino, near the old Apple campus.

I initially went over to ABWAutoService in Milpitas, because I had one of those $19.95 coupons from the PennySaver. When I arrived there at the shop, the owner told me their machine was down and he referred me to the shop next door called A1, a Test only SMOG center, which would honor the coupon. I paid a total of $30.70 which included the test, certificate and the transfer fee. Binh Do the shop owner hooked up the SMOG machine to my OBD II connector, my rear wheels on the dyno and he didn't require me to open up the engine compartment. I was in and out the shop in about 15 minutes. Here's the address: 61 Suite A, Minnis Circle, Milpitas, ph# 408-942-7789. Give him a call and hopefully he'll honor that price again. Tell him you were referred by another Porsche Boxster owner.
