BTW, saw a Boxster do 2:04's at Thunderhill Sunday.

Okay, it was a Boxster RS. What an amazing car!!

There were a ton of cool cars in addition to the regular cars schmoes like I drive. There were some Vipers in full race trim. One of whom, couldn't keep up with the RS. There was a 911 GT3RS that looked like an actual ALMS car but I'm not sure if it was or not. He was about 4 sec's slower than the RS. There was a 911 in full race trim with GT2 insignia on it but it wasn't anything close to the current GT2 and it ran 1:55. There were some Panoz race cars, too.

Great event with lots of eye and ear candy on display.

I was gonna say...

...what the?! But the Boxster RS, well, OK, that's more reasonable! Was it Chris Murray? He's got that thing working really well now in stripped down form with the RS suspension, carbon fiber and fiberglass panels, full racing slicks, big motor, etc. Cool car, nice guy.

Yeah, your record is safe. For now. [Dr Evil type laugh]

I don't remember the name. It was all primer grey with a bunch of GT3 panels in front, a carbon fiber hood, big huge slicks, full cage, no cat, no muffler, 3.4L engine, 911 type carbon scoops on the sides, and so on. Amazing car. He said he had a guy from Scargo do the work. That guy has since moved on to Racers Group.

yep

That's Chris Murray. The car was in progress for the early part of this year, finally hit the track in late spring, and Chris has been sorting it out since then. It looks great even in primer black! Chris is the GGR time trial chairman. Those tires are Goodyear racing slicks, and are wider than anything you can fit on normal Boxsters. Hence those big fender flares. That thing must have some serious stick.
