Front License plate -Fix it ticket

Yep just got one and I was not even in the car. This was on the 2002 S. The car was parked on the street. Fine is $100.00 + $50 for the frame/mount from the dealer.

Now looking at my PDE2 I don't have any holes on my front bumper to mount my plates on. Can I get away with not having one if I get a fix it ticket on this car? Just curious.

How about mounting it to the tow hook location?

Probably other vendors out there...

Thanks Vitamin C. Looks like this is my only options. Better to pay $84 for this than a $100 fine.

Chris, This was in SF. maybe their fees are more than other cities.

Probably depends on the amount of revenue, er, safety they derive from red light cameras.

Oh oh... I do that all the time... haven't been nicked yet

I got a $50 ticket parked head-first in a mall in Palos Verdes though - it wasn't a fix-it, so just paid it off. The funny thing is that my tags were expired as well, but (s)he put the next year on the ticket (maybe because the registration was paid, or maybe because they were more interested in the front plate).

I just paid $30 for fix it ticket license plate as well.. I think the $100 is if you just want to pay the bail without showing the court the plate was put on... I would just zip tie the plate to the front grill bring it to any police department to have it signed off on the ticket then go to the court listed behind the ticket and pay the $30 processing fee... Then go home and take the plate back off.. That's what i did.. It just doesn't look good with the front plates on...

I made this after a trip to the hardware store. It mounts in the tow hole like the moweraxle model. I used it to get the one NFP ticket I got. At the time it was just a fix-it ticket... no fine. Now it is proudly displayed in my trunk for use in high ticket areas.
