Smile 11-Years Later The Porsche Carrera GT Is Still A Cool-As-Hell Supercar

Out of all the cars that came out in the last decade or so, we at ColumnM do not celebrate any other more than the fabled Porsche Carrera GT. Its one of our absolute favourite… From each decibel that comes out of its exhaust connected to the 5.7-litre V10 engine to the way it is a proper old-school supercar, the Carrera GT is quite a bit more than what its understated looks might suggest.

Everything about the Carrera GT is special. The engine that was initially planned as a 5.5-litre engine and built specifically for the purpose of racing, was increased to 5.7-litres in capacity. This allowed the final production car to put out 605 horsepower that was enough to push the lightweight car from standstill to 100kmph in just 3.6 seconds. It was the first car to introduce the concept of a carbon fibre reinforced plastic chassis (CFRP) that was developed to keep the car light on its toes. The Carrera GT is easily one of the most desired modern supercars no matter how you look at it.

This particularly immaculately kept Porsche Carrera GT comes from the Auction house of RM SOTHEBY’S who will be putting it up for sale, starting at a cool $850,000, which in our opinion isn’t bad at all for a classic that is guaranteed to increase in value.
