whats up with the panamera
hey so i was reading about the panamera on my dealer's website and they said this:
"For additional fuel savings, all Panameras include an engine stop-start function that can turn off and restart the engine at certain times, like when stopped at an intersection or in traffic." (you can read the rest here if you want: Panamera Pre-order) so...what i gather it's like a hybrid sports car? im interested in learning more, does anyone have other information?thanks! |

It isn't a hybrid. And it isn't a sports car either. The function is more like a gas powered golf cart. The engine goes dormant until you hit the go pedal and then it returns to normal life.
I'd call it a Gran Tourismo sedan. Grand damage to one's bank account for certain.

It is one sexy beast. I built one for order with special $4000 purple color option and ceramic brakes with yellow calipers. Yummy!

In my opinion, Panamera is just the Cayenne that went on a diet. It shares a lot [including engine and much of the drivetrain] with the Cayenne. OKOK it has a revised suspension as the Cayenne's is just way too heavy, but isn't the 911 already a "4 seater" sports car ? Heck, I do not fit the demographics for a person who would possibly buy a Panamera, and so, I dislike it.
