OT: I'm back to dial-up...

attbi.com seems to be down again. My cable modem has a connection, but the DHCP server is not responding. I also can't get to their email server from my Earthlink dial-up connection.

It might be time to switch to DSL...

Interesting. I haven't had any difficulties as of yet.

My connection is via a Linksys router via DHCP and serving DCHP to my in house network. The only time I did have trouble was trying to get my personal web page back online. It seems that the password has to be the same as the email passsword AND be 8 or more characters. The latter is something they don't bother to mention!

I'd switch to DSL if I was close enough to the CO.

Tom,

You might check again about DSL availibity. SBC has something called Project Pronto where they extend the fiber out to the neighborhoods, thus putting the "CO" closer to you. They didn't complete the rollout because of the economic downturn.

At my house I can only connect because of Pronto.

It's back...

My service seems to be back to normal now. Just a few hours of outage.

I've also had problems

Until today, there was a 2 day period where I had difficulty accessing web pages. Had a similar problem last week.

If you try calling their service number, you get a message saying they aren't accepting calls.
