COULD IT BE THE OIL I USED MOBILE 10W 30 SYNTHETIC??? OR PERHAPS THE HYDRAULIC TAPPETS???? ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED

THANKS,

WORRIED IN Virginia Beach!!! :(

Does it tick as you get underway and then fade a little until you stop and restart?

Might be your catalytic converters. Depending on the severity of the exhaust leak, you can sometimes hear chuffing or puffing sounds when you lift your foot off the gas and decelerate with your engine.

Find a road with some concrete barricades next to driving surface and do a few drive-bys and listen to the sound reflecting off them.

Hi Thanks For The Reply. When Im Between Two Cars I Can Hear A Consistent Tick At About 5 Times Per Second....no Performance Issues At All However.

Is the noise constant or does it vary with engine RPM?

Its Gets Faster With Engine Rpm.....but Not Louder...almost Not Noticable Unless Im Riding By Something That Will Cause The Noise To Bounce Back---like A Bus Wall Etc.

Thanks

If you stand outside the car does it seem to eminate from a specific side?

Is it a metallic noise?

Is it there from the intial start?

Yes The Passenger Side. It Does Sound Sort Of Metallic. I Took It To 2 Diff Porsche Mechanics They Seem To Think It Might Be A Lazy Lifter... So Ive Decided Against Having The 2 Guessers Go Into My Engine. Im Taking It Into Porsche On Tuesday... The Porsche Rep Said It Might Be Due To A Missing Pad? Inside The Camshaft That Would Cause A Slapping Around Noise?????
