1/2 hour for complete install....takes longer to get the console out than all the rest of the install

I did mine in about 45 minutes, very easy, just make sure to clearly mark the position of the original linkage, chances are you will have to adjust it again but it gives you a good starting point. I would like to go i have done ssk on my car with the schnell kit, people can compare it with the b&m. What time for spectators? I can also bring some tools...

OK people it's time to make a commitment!

If you are interested in participating or simply want to drop by and shoot the breeze while others do the work please indicate as such as plans need to be finalized. If there's no significant interest then the event *may* be moved to another date or we'll just to the one car.

That's OK....the first time my wife took it for a drive after I installed the shifter, she kept thinking that it wasn't going into gear because the throw was so much shorter. I was listening to her drive away and these l-o-n-g pauses between gears thinking what the H$%# is she doing?

Maybe you had yours a little tighter than I had mine. I was VERY precise in adjusting the end play in the bushings. I felt the the reccomended clearance (tighten "snug" then back off 1/4 to 1/2 turn) was too sloppy, but it didn't take much of an adjustment at all to make it too snug. I left maybe .020" end play and it works perfectly.

It would be quite a story for many years to come... "so on a whim, I decided to drive 3000 miles each way to help some folks (who I never met before) with a short shift install. But you wouldn't believe the fun I had getting there, and with those wild California guys"

If, and it's a big if, I can come up with the part in time would there still be room for me? Doing some snooping it seems as if Carlsen might have the part. I'm going to call on Thursday and find out.

Don't think the thought didn't cross my mind......

...would be a really cool drive. Only trouble is I need 8 or 9 days to do it....
