Rector trade in offer

Did anybody else receive a mailing from Rector offering a $7000 bonus trade in amount? According to KBB, my '99 is worth about $17.5-18.5k That would give me ~$25k for trade in on an '07 base for ~$50k... STOP! I don't need a new Boxster, mine is fine, I don't need a new Boxster, mine is fine. If I keep repeating this, the urge will subside.

Did anybody else get this offer, or am I just special?

I got one too.

My guess is that the way it will work is that they'd give you the normal low value for your trade and then deduct $7K from the MSRP of the car. If this is the case then it's not really much of a deal any different than what a shrewd negotiator could probably get.

True, anytime they base pricing on MSRP, that's fantasy land. They have one very lightly optioned '07 base for $51k! I think I'll learn to live with mine for a few more years and pick up an '07 S for a song!

Your insight serves you well. Bury your feelings deep down. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

You cannot escape your destiny. Yes, your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. You underestimate the power of the Dark Side. 295 hp @ $600 a month is a wonderful thing. Give yourself to the Dark Side.

Sorry Yoda, I think I'll hold on to the PodRacer I have now for a bit. "You must unlearn what you have learned."
