BABBLERS BIRTHDAY BASH THIS SUNDAY!

It's time to celebrate our first birthday! The BABBLERS are one year old and it's been a GREAT year! We're approaching 200 members so we've got a lot to celebrate and we're going to do that this Sunday.

Here's the plan...

We're going to the All Porsche Swap Meet & Concours - sponsored by at Parts Heaven and Loma Prieta PCA, held at Partsheaven in Hayward in the morning and then we're doing lunch at the Old Tyme Pizza Joynt nearby.

At lunch we plan on holding a raffle with great prizes! The more people who show up and buy raffle tickets, the more prizes we can offer. Potential prizes include (one or more of the following):
* Clear Side Markers
* Non-Smoker's Tray & Rubber Matt
* Genuine Porsche Car Cover
* Evo Swift Shift with No Slack Needle Bearings
* RoW M030 Springs
* H&R Sport Springs
* B&M Sport Shifter
* Gemballa Pedals

Prize(s) provided by D2 Performance with proceeds over the cost of the prize(s) going to The BABBLERS Board Fund.

Meet at 9AM at Starbucks in Fremont (corner of Mowry Avenue and Fremont Boulevard, behind Boxston Market on the southeast corner).

Depart at 9:30AM for Partsheaven Swap Meet and Concours in Hayward. If you want to meet us there here are the directions:

Once we inspected the cars and the items for sale and all the other stuff to see there, we'll head to lunch at Ye Olde Pizza Joynt. They've got pizza and other eats and are also known for having a pipe organ.

The three manual thirteen rank Wurlitzer pipe organ, installed in Ye Olde Pizza Joynt in Hayward, California, is a successful combination of several instruments. The ornate white and gold console came from the Warfield Theatre, San Francisco. Most of the pipework came from the State Theatre, Fresno. The average date of the instrument is 1927. The ranks are: Tibia, Vox, Flute, Diapason, Violin D'Orchestre, VDO Celeste, Salicional, Salicional Celeste, Post Horn, Brass Saxophone, Kinura, Tuba, Brass Trumpet. Among the effects used on this recording are the Calliope (used in Whistling Rufus), 5'6" Knabe Grand Piano (played from the console at three pitches), Back Beat Cymbal, Bass Drum, Crash Cymbal and Rhythm Cymbal. The instrument was the first to be installed in a pizza parlor, in 1962.

Well OK -- It's not a festival. And it may not be a gala. But darnit, it will be a rip roaring good time!

In order for the raffle to work it will be helpful to have a show of hands for those planning to attend and purchase a raffle ticket. The raffle tickets may vary in price based on how many individuals purchase tickets. So come on out and support The BABBLERS.
