Which to buy, 2007 Cayman or 2006 Cayman S?

I am looking to buy a Cayman and I have narrowed it down to 2 cars. a 2007 Cayman with 22K miles, and a 2006 Cayman S with 19K Miles. I prefer the 2006 model but I heard or read somewhere that 2006 Caymans had problems that 2007+ models don't. Can anyone here verify this or is it bogus information?

TIA

I would go the '06 S. Any time you buy the first model year of a car there are a few quirks to work out but by now everything should be good to go on those cars. No need to worry, just drive and enjoy.

I don't think there are any real problems on the 06 vs other years. Choosing between the S and non-S is a pretty big difference in itself.

If the one you want passes a PPI, get it and hit the road!

Cayman is not really a brand new car. It's basically a Boxster coupe. Therefore most of the issues have been debugged at Boxster. Go with S, it's a huge difference in power. Like others said, be sure to get an PPI.
