The Boxster needs an aftermarket shop manual

Like Haynes, Bently, Chiltons, and so on. It has been out for over 4 years and it is now a high volume car.

Something the DIY person can use. The 15 volume and 43 supplements, line drawings, factory shop manual is expensive and not much use to the shade tree mechanic. Heck, sometimes I wish just for the spec book Porsche use to publish for things like torque specifications and capacities.

Simple things, like how to remove the radio, change the oil, replace the brake disc and rotors, remove the door panels, spark plug change, strut removal, removal of interior pieces, get into the engine, and so on.

Peter was contacted by a company to write such a book, but to Peter it can all be done in 6 pages. That is because Peter is an expert on the subject, unlike the rest of us.

Perhaps the computer age, a 4 year warranty, leased cars, makes the old shop manual an outdated idea.
