986 Radio

Hello, I have a problem with my radio CDR 23: Boxster 2000.

It turns "off" when I start the car.

I can turn it "on" - putting A/C "on", but after some minutes of driving.

Electrical Problem? Relay Problem? Any idea about a possible solution?

You may be having a problem with ...

... your ignition switch.
Problems in the electrical portion of the ignition switch produce all sorts of electrical gremlins.
You can find more information here:

Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

Don't know if this helps... From time to time, I have had similar issues. I have found turning the car off and cycling the alarm system makes the radio work.

James, thanks for your answer. A question: what do you mean with "cycling the alarm system?" Regards

Either getting out of the car and turing the alarm on and off via the remote or sitting in the car and using the door lock to lock and unlock. I hope that makes sense...

Regards

James

If that doesn't work then it probably is the electrical portion of the ignition switch. It's not an expensive part and is definitely a DIY task.
