Look at all this track time at great locations!
If you haven't already heard through the grapevine, the TracQuest DE event at Laguna Seca has been moved from February 6-8 to the weekend of April 20-21. This was not my choice (CART wanted my dates, and you can guess the rest), but huge thanks go to the track for doing its best to make up for the loss. The event is now only 2 days instead of 3, but it's on a weekend, and the weather in Monterey in late April should be spectacular! Last year the Laguna Seca event filled up a month beforehand and it was mid-week in February. I expect this event to fill up much more quickly, so don't wait too long to sign up. Over 20 people are signed up already, and everyone so far has transferred their registrations to the April date.
When the Laguna date changed, I had to scramble and managed to book Thunderhill for essentially the same dates as the previous Laguna event. So, TracQuest will be at Thunderhill on Friday and Saturday, February 8th and 9th. For those not familiar with it, Thunderhill is 90 miles north of Sacramento. It's a fantastic, challenging 3.0 mile road course that is owned and operated by the SCCA and which has a little bit of everything. Because there is runoff room everywhere, it's one of the safest tracks in the country at which to explore the limits of your car. I'm also contemplating doing a one day event at Buttonwillow (near Bakersfield, CA) on Monday, March 4. Without committing at this time, please let me know if this is an event in which you would be interested. I need to know very soon, as I need to tell the track whether I'll be keeping the date or releasing it. Finally, there is still room at the Sears Point event on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. If you've been waiting to see how the weather would be before signing up, it looks like you'll be in great shape. The forecast is for rain on Friday and Monday, with partly cloudy skies on Tuesday and Wednesday. Attendance at this event will be low because it's mid-week and close to Christmas, so those attending will have an amazing time. Run groups will be less than 20 cars and everyone should get 5 to 6 hours of track time over the two days. The banquet at the Lodge at Sonoma will be spectacular. Because we're in wine country, I'll be serving wine at the banquet. The Cabernet Sauvignon will be Silver Oak, perennially one of CA's best Cabernet producers, and the Chardonnay will be Flowers, a small, ultra-high quality CA producer of primarily Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. You'll find event write-ups and entry forms for the Sears Point, Thunderhill and Laguna Seca events on the TracQuest web site at www.tracquest.com. I hope to see you at one (or all!) of these events. -Todd Serota [email protected] (TracQuest high speed driver education) [email protected] (VinoQuest wine business) [email protected] (law firm and home) www.tracquest.com (TracQuest web site) www.tracquest.com/deboard (TracQuest/Rennlist message board) www.vinoquest.com (VinoQuest web site) ![]() |

Track Time? U BET!
Hunpin's Thunderhill event was BIG FUN.
If the Boxster group can handle a WRX on track, I'm there! Keep us (me) informed. Now I need a helmet. Any suggestions Dan? Ron |
