Bang! - and my lovely seat is ruined

Hello all an Happy New Year !

I've just returned from Europe after several months to find that the leather seat of my precious Boxter S has cracked (so bad that I hardly sit ) Probably because of the weather or something even if the car was parked with a cover on (I guess those things don't work very good even if I bought a pretty expensive one).

What should I do ?
> get a new pair of seats (found some on e-bay) but I am not very happy with this approach
> go to an upholstery and have the leather replaced
> get some leather covers (probably the most cost effective method).

any suggestions please.

Also can you guys recommend a shop where I can do the wheel alignment and tire balancing ?

I live in Palo Alto, Ca

Thank you

I would check with Jeda Generations. They're in san jose and do tons of Porsche upholstery. He'll want to see the seat rather than give a phone quote but he does great work.

you might also want to get a quote from Mountain View Auto Interiors, ask for Bob. Bob upholstered (is this even a word ?) a race seat for me and did my GAHH top conversion and I am very happy with both. And he had very reasonable prices.

Sorry to hear about your seat Jeda Generations replaced my rear window in '04, and their work is great.

As for your alignment, I have heard good things about Custom Alignment in Mountain View. They are in the recommendations page as well.

Custom Alignment in Mountain View is awesome. They really take care of your rims and try to make the placement of the weights where they don't show. I would recommend them without reservation

;)

Thank you all

I will check with the upholstery guys you recommend. I need to do the rear plastic window as well.

AS for the alignment, they recommend to get a new set of rims before doing that since mine are more like four square shaped
(i saw that boxter s has different sizes on front and rear)

> Later edit

just bought :

18" O.Z. Alleggerita HLT Black Painted Rims
225/40ZR18 Continental ExtremeContact DW Tires

LATER EDIT> Rims and Tires INSTALLED. IT FEELS LIKE A NEW CAR. Jeez

Yuppy !!!
