I don't understand what being timid has to do with it. If he looks tougher or meaner than you, use diplomacy but don't walk away afraid to get what is yours. This is all it takes to get paid and not get your ass beat...

1) Politely show him the damage and see if he gets angry or denies it.
2) If he is cool, the rest is easy - just exchange info and be on your way. If not, just make a note in your head of his plate as you drive away. Call the cops and report it and then report it with your insurance company.

In CA, any time the damage exceeds $500, it must be reported by law. Even if you pay cash and even if you banged into a tree on public property.

That did not come across in your post. Posts are really hard to interpret intent. No apology necessary to me. But if it had been my video, my feelings might have been hurt by your response.

I agree. However, I think I've lived long enough to realize when I'm about to head into a dark deadened alley -- and that's pretty much how it felt when seeing him approaching. Besides, when also my GF (who knows this area) wanted to get the hell out of there, suspected that this guy had purposely bumped into me (which only a person who has nothing to lose can do).

So, in my mind, if there's much more to lose than to win, I won't gamble.

Well, I'm European so I wouldn't even understand smilies ;^)

Frankly, when RAYMAN1911 said he was "offended" by my video, I had to look up the word, (my english isn't that prolific).

So now I start to wonder if maybe RAYMAN1911 watched a different video... or perhaps is a foreigner himself.

Great! This has now become a foreign relations issue.

Now that we know you are European- your observations, your politics and video all make sense.

Here are my and )

Now- have fun!
