Tech Session on Car Interior & Cab Tops Maintenance

Hi all, I saw this event on LPR.PCA.ORG site.... and it is tomorrow 9:00am.

http://lpr.pca.org/flyers/20080823_premiertech.pdf

It should be interesting, since we boxster people all have a Cab top in our Boxsters.

Since I haven't wash my top for a couple of month... I need to know how to care for it...

Sure... brief summary

Key: Avoid the Sun. Avoid the Sun..... Avoid the Sun at all cause for your leather and the convertible top.
Secondly: Keep the top up as much as you can.... folding it down for a long time is not a good idea.

Some products that the shop owner mentioned: I don't remember much. Sorry!

For replacing the plastic rear windows... cost $2200+

hmmm.....I heard it differently.....I thought I'd heard $1100 for replacing the Boxster rear window with a "special non-deteriorating plastic" (originated by BMW) - didn't hear a quote for standard window replacement.....recommended dishsoap and water for occaisional cleaning of the top - or 'Ragg Topp' products...

I don't know about that, who was the expert....but when I had my '99, I kept the top down all the time from March/April until it started to rain in October/November.
Did that for 5 years. My top and rear window were pristine....

I made a nice slim "pillow" that I inserted in the fold area of the rear window as it was about 1/2 way down every time....
No scratching and no top problems...

what was the reasoning for not keeping the top down?

Maybe the reasoning for keeping the top up as much as possible is to help in
keeping those annoying wrinkles from forming at the corners?

Hey Dan (Docdanracy), tell me more about the thin pillow. Was it to keep those wrinkles away?
