Has anyone done OBC Hack on a 2001?

Hello all,

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I don't get to the Babblers board often.

Some of the SoCalers are doing an OBC Hack gathering this weekend, and I just need to confirm that an OBC hack has been successfully done on a 2001....?
Possible or no?

Yup - I did.

I did the OBC Stalk Hack on my MY2001 using Yoseif's instuctions and Peter's Instructions to which there is a link in Yoseif's instructions. It works like a charm. I had a lot of help by way of posts on this board from Tool Pants and Magic Mountain Dan. I wish I would have known about your hack party sooner as I live in LA and I would have been happy to come lend a hand to you guys. Unfortunately, I have weekend plans. However, feel free to email me with any questions or post them on the board and I'll check in periodically tomorrow, at least. It is a great hack. I use the OBC all the time.

Go to www.socalbg.org & join the list!

Thanks for the "yes" votes. I will go ahead as planned...

I do have a few questions...

One, did you enable your OBC before doing the install or after? Does it make a difference?

Two, how do you reset the mpg functions? With the trip odometer switch? Assuming that it now toggles between trip odometer and other functions (?)... I am doing the dash switch, not the stalk...

Thanks for any info and I hope you can join us sometime.

Re: Go to www.socalbg.org & join the list!

Just saw your questions now. I enabled the OBC after the hack (although I thought the dealer had enabled it before, but it hadn't). I'm not sure how the reset works with the switch hack, but I would imagine that if you press and hold for a couple of seconds one way or the other on the switch it will reset. I can't recall how Yoseif said this was done on the switch. If that doesn't work, then the trip odometer reset may do the trick (it will still reset my trip odometer even though the stalk does it as well. Anyway, good luck with it and I'll join up on socalbg.org. Good luck again!
