Hi Martin. Just chiming in because I know you are looking for info. My problem was fixed with a replacement regulator, but your problem does not sound like what a failing regulator would do since your glass moves up and down. Unfortunately, I do not know what causes the window to move back up or rather refrain from moving back up. Sounds like there may be some kind of switch that informs whether the door is open or closed. Will the overhead light go on and off with the door opening and closing?

The best solution to your problem is to replace your window mechanisms (both drivers and passenger).
