Cayman w/ 86,000 trans/gear mech.noise while moving
Car is 2008 Cayman S bought new 8 years ago. This mild but annoying and concerning noise, steady RPM related whir, began recently. Just had 84,000 mi. service completed in January.
Sound goes away when clutch is depressed so assume it is either - in gear box or - somewhere in drive train, - coming from rear. I have found in past I learn more by asking others gets a more accurate and often less expensive resolution of what the cause might be. Suggestions please? |
