Lightbulb Boxster Muffler Interchangability

Does anyone know if the mufflers from a 2.5L, 2.7L and a 3.2L Boxster are interchangable? All connections the same and same dimensions? I am looking for a muffler and am considering buying an "S" muffler and gutting it to make my own sport muffler...just like we used to do with 911 mufflers. Or purchasing a used Sport muffler like a Dansk.

Thanks in advance

Boxster Muffler

Dan, perhaps Jeff will post his pictures of the different models. Here's what I've learned:
1. It looks like internally the mufflers for 2.5, 2.7, and 3.2 are the same.
2. the mounting arrangement is different: 2.5 is one arrangement and 2.7/3.2 is another.
3. An adaptor is available if you want to use a 2.7/3.2 muffler on a 2.5. An adapter for putting a 2.5 muffler on a 2.7/3.2 is not available.

Thanks for the information Doug. I am not sure whether Jeff still uses this board or not?
One more question...do you know where you can get this "adapter" and if so how much it costs? Since my car is a 2.5L this might work for me.
Jeff...are you out there?

Thanks

Jeff doesn't hang out here too much any more. There's a muffler thread over at Renntech.org that may be of interest.
