My new Porsche 944

Here's my new 944 that I bought on Friday. It's a '83 non-turbo but is in very good condition. The best part is that it was only $600. It needed a clutch and tires so I put a clutch in it on Saturday and I'm just going to order some R compound tires and start going to the track again. 944s always had clutch issues with the rubber hub in the disc but what caused this one to fail was one of the flywheel bolts backed out and locked up the clutch breaking the rubber hub in half. Only 98k miles, no p/s, just about everything works, Recaro seats (very comfortable), Momo steering wheel, lowered, big sway bars, and cross drilled front rotors.

Your Porsche factory trained bay area dealer alternative.

Nice score! $600! It helps to be a mechanic.

Good find. I too have bought several 944's (3 turbo's) fixed up and sold. After all these years I still love these cars. These are also great handling cars.

I loved the 84 944 I had from 84-86. Best balanced car I've ever had. Only car I felt I could take to 10/10ths (at least going uphills in San Diego County).

Maybe 9/10ths flat and 8/10ths downhill off camber.

I'm still sorry I had to sell it, but it was the 944 or the 914-6 at the time.

Great find and a steal at $600. Have fun on the track with it and if your at the GRC track event at Infineon on 10/10/2009 I'll see you there.
