Front trunk release cable

Why does Porsche provide a release cable for the front trunk and then tape it underneath the right front headlight? Unless you re-route the cable to a more accessible location, you can't use it without removing the headlight, which you can't do without opening the trunk in the first place.

Re: Front trunk release cable

You 996 owners will have a lot of fun trying to get to the rear trunk release cable, as shown in Sandy's pic.

The front cable on 986 and 996 can be reached by removing the passenger side plastic fender liner, and of course there is the Joe King and other methods.

I think Porsche puts it where they do to give us the challenge to find a better method to get to it.
