2006 Boxster

Hello folks!

I am a new member to this forum and I would like to ask a question.

I am shopping for a 2004 or 2005 Boxster but I've seen a reference in an online auto magazine that the 2006 Boxsters will have more interior space!

At 6'4" I would love to have the extra space but I don't know whether to wait for the 2006 models. My local Porsche dealer claims they know of no changes to the 2006s.

Anyone have any clues?

Regards,

Everett

Everett,
I own a 2005 Boxster S and I am 6'4'' tall. I was told that the Boxster gets redesigned every 5-7 years and 2005 was it for the next 5 years. As for room, there is adequate legroom for me and my head just grazes the top when it is up. I really wanted a sports car when I bought mine, and I checked headroom on nearly every available car. The Boxster had about the most headroom and the highest window frame, so that you could actually see out. Just sit in it and try it. If you have a very long waist, you may have trouble.

Bill,
Thanks very much. You and I are the same height so that is a good reference.
I think the article I saw was confusing the upcoming coupe with the boxster
convertible. I did drive a 2005 and found it to be big enough inside, Not alot of
room to spare, but better than other sports cars, as you said.
Thanks again for your reply.

Everett & Bill,

Another area for tall people is legroom. At 6'3", I needed to remove the consol box below the radio and gained about 2" to the right side to splay the right leg out a bit. It's called the "consol delete" option I think - I got the kit via Sunset Porsche on-line as I recall.

Thanks Ken

Good tip on the console removal. I drove a 2004S yesterday and I think I know where the space will be gained. I'll most likely do the removal once I find my car!
